Polk Young Farmers and Ranchers

Polk County Farm Bureau  boasts a strong and active YF&R group of comprised of students and young professionals. The YF&R program’s primary goal is to enable and encourage young adults to become active participating members of Farm Bureau. The YF&R Committee includes men and women between the ages of 18 and 35. The committee members participate in networking, social, continued education, legislative, membership, youth and public relations activities.

The Polk YF&R also support local high school seniors that are pursuing a degree in agriculture through the Will Putnam YF&R Scholarship Fund.  The Polk YF&R and Polk Women’s Committee host “The Hunger Shootout” in the fall of each year to benefit the YF&R Scholarship and Leadership Funds and the Wild Game Food Bank, which provides harvest game food sources for county food banks and those in need.
