Registration Now Open for Legislative Days in Tallahassee

One of Florida Farm Bureau’s greatest opportunities to impact public policy on the state level occurs every year during the legislative session, where hundreds of members travel to Tallahassee from all across the state to advocate in support of policies that will positively impact our state’s farmers and ranchers and against policies that make it harder for our family farms to stay in production.

Farm Bureau Legislative Days provides members from nearly all of Florida’s 67 counties the opportunity learn more about our legislative agenda, meet directly with state lawmakers and their staffs, and educate the public on the important role agricultural producer’s play in our economy and our efforts to keep food safe, abundant and affordable for all consumers.

Just last year, Florida Farm Bureau members traveled to Tallahassee during the first week of the 2017 legislative session and had an immediate impact on Senate Bill 10, keeping the state from purchasing 60,000 to 150,000 acres of farmland and ensuring it stays in production. In addition, Farm Bureau members helped secure $2.3 million in sales tax exemptions on animal health products used for poultry and livestock. The importance of having our farmers and ranchers in Tallahassee during the legislative session cannot be overstated. Our successes in the Legislature are a direct result of having engaged members who are educated about the legislative process and build and maintain productive relationships with their elected officials at all levels of government.

We invite all of you to join us again in Tallahassee, Jan. 29-30, for Florida Farm Bureau’s 2018 Legislative Days.
