Helping Law Enforcement Serve Farm Families
Florida Farm Bureau was presented with a plaque of appreciation for its continued support of the Florida Agricultural Crimes Intelligence Unit (FACIU) and its efforts to provide training for its members to better serve farm families across the state.
FACIU includes more than 200 sheriff’s deputies representing more than 60 counties across the Sunshine State. These law enforcement officers investigate agricultural crimes and protect rural lands.
The FACIU held its annual conference in Mount Dora where participants attended received updates on various topics including citrus greening, identifying and protecting communities from acts of terrorism, hurricane and severe weather preparedness, the State Agricultural Response Team and protecting lands from trespassing.
