Bartow, FL – Christian P. Spinosa has been selected as one of three top finalists in the Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Award Program. The Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Excellence in Agriculture Award Program is designed as an opportunity for Young Farmers & Ranchers to earn recognition, while actively contributing and growing through their involvement in Farm Bureau and the agriculture industry. Participants are evaluated on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, and their involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations.

Christian SpinosaSpinosa is the Assistant Production Manager at Dudley Putnam, Inc., a citrus and cattle operation headquartered in Bartow. He also serves as the Chair of the Polk County Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee, as President of the State Young Farmer and Ranchers Leadership Group, and as the voice of “Captain Citrus” for the Florida Department of Citrus.

Other finalists in the competition are Lindsey Bowen of Hendry/Glades County Farm Bureau and Kevin Wright of Suwannee County. Each finalist will provide a presentation on their related activities at the Florida Farm Bureau Annual meeting on October 28th in Ponte Vedra Beach. The winner will be announced at the President’s Award Banquet on the evening of October 28th and will represent Florida in the national YF&R competition at the January 2016 American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Orlando.

“Christian continues to stand out as a rising leader in our industry,” said Polk County Farm Bureau president Kyle Story. “I know he will represent Polk County well at the next stage of this esteemed competition,” he said.
