2017 Florida Farmer of the Year Announced
Congratulations to Mark Wilson of Dade County Farm Bureau for being selected as the 2017 Florida Farmer of the Year. Wilson produces exotic foliage plants at his Homestead nursery, Greendale Nursery. He is a long-time advocate for agriculture and youth education. His community service and innovation in plant production have earned him the prestigious title of Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Ag Expo Florida Farmer of the Year.
Wilson, a state director for Florida Farm Bureau, will travel to Georgia where he will compete for the Sunbelt Ag Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year Award with nine other state finalists. Each state winner receives $2,500 and an all-expense paid trip to the Expo. The overall Southeastern winner will receive $15,000 and various other prizes from sponsors.
